13 And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. 15 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” 16 And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.
All the children of the world are children of Adam. Maybe you didn't remember this song. Red and yellow black and white they are precious in his sight, God loves all the children of Adam. Even in the garden you can only imagine how old Adam must have been. But no matter how old he was when Eve was made they were both children.
Some think Jesus means simple minded and some people think this means there is no need to instruct and correct these children. But there is a great deal that adults forget, remember the story of Peter Pan. Who was the wise person in the story? Who was the one to have glory for faith and love? Who was the one who could think happy thoughts? The children not the Adults.
Sometimes being a child is not trying to explain everything, and sometimes it means learning the difficult answers. There are other times when being a child means being disciplined. I find comfort in knowing that parents look past childish mistakes, but not adult mistakes. God pays for childish error, and he pays that price for all the children of Adam (no matter what their age may be).
