Mark 8:22-26
22 And they came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man
and begged him to touch him. 23 And
he took the blind man by the hand and led him out of the village, and when he
had spit on his eyes and laid his hands on him, he asked him, “Do you see
anything?” 24 And he
looked up and said, “I see people, but they look like trees, walking.” 25 Then Jesus laid his
hands on his eyes again; and he opened his eyes, his sight was restored, and he
saw everything clearly. 26 And
he sent him to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.”
Do not pass "Go" do not collect "$200" do not go into the village, but go straight home. Jesus tells the Blind man that it is important not to spread the word but to Go to his family first. St Mark does not indicate if it is his Family or just friends, but states "some people." These people could be either. This blind man could even be an outcast from his home, and now allowed to return.
Many of us have friends who desire to help us. Many of us may even struggle with being accepted by friends and family because of some sin or miss deed that we have done. Here Jesus takes dirt to fix a man of dust. The sin may even be viewed by the person as greater than what was possible to be repaired.
Sometimes we only think God forgives so much. Many people believe they have fallen so far that they can never be brought back into the family. But God does something different. Do you realize you are forgiven yet? Well let's try again, Jesus Christ forgives you all your sins. Do you feel forgiven yet? God loves you so much that he paid the price for your sins.
Do you see your forgiveness? Do you see that you have been brought back into fellowship with God? God has predestined you and has chosen you to be his child from the foundation of the World.
