Proper 14 (OTA)

Isaiah 2:1-5
The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
It shall come to pass in the latter days
that the mountain of the house of the Lord
shall be established as the highest of the mountains,
and shall be lifted up above the hills;
and all the nations shall flow to it,
and many peoples shall come, and say:
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
that he may teach us his ways
and that we may walk in his paths.”
For out of Zion shall go the law,
and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
He shall judge between the nations,
and shall decide disputes for many peoples;
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation,
neither shall they learn war anymore.
O house of Jacob,
come, let us walk
in the light of the Lord.

Come let us walk in the light of Jesus Christ our Lord. On that last day when the trumpet sounds and the moon and the Sun will be no more, Jesus Christ will be our Light. He will be the light of the World. But there is still a further metaphor; You need to walk in the way of Christ.

These people are streaming from every nation across the planet in order to learn the ways of the Lord. They come to no longer learn the way of war, but to learn the ways of our Lord. Jesus Christ comes to teach his people. He comes to bring the Word of the Lord to people so that they would be instructed. Once instructed, you can no longer claim ignorance nor innocents.

You are a warrior. You are a sword bearer. You are a sinner. God is going to judge you. Stream toward the Light of the World. Go toward the light. Jesus Christ is the Light. Let us walk in the Light of God’s forgiveness. He has redeemed you from your sins. He has brought you out of darkness into the Light of Christ. The Word of the Lord comes out of Zion proclaiming the Lamb of God died for the forgiveness of your sins.
