Sunday of the Order of Melchizedek (Ps) September 18th

Psalm 110
1 The Lord says to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand,
until I make your enemies your footstool.”
2 The Lord sends forth from Zion
your mighty scepter.
Rule in the midst of your enemies!
3 Your people will offer themselves freely
on the day of your power,
in holy garments;
from the womb of the morning,
the dew of your youth will be yours.
4 The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind,
“You are a priest forever
after the order of Melchizedek.”
5 The Lord is at your right hand;
he will shatter kings on the day of his wrath.
6 He will execute judgment among the nations,
filling them with corpses;
he will shatter chiefs
over the wide earth.
7 He will drink from the brook by the way;
therefore he will lift up his head.
The Holy Bible : English standard version. 2001 (Ps 110:1-7). Wheaton: Standard Bible Society.

The Lord has sat down next to your Lord. He is seated at the Right hand of God the Father. He is our King who has received the scepter of the King. He is of the order of Melchizedek. He is the one who scatters or shatters all the kings of the earth.

He is your High Priest who sits at the right hand of our Father in heaven interceding for us at all times. He speaks to our Father reminding him of the sacrifice he made for all of us. When we turn after our own ways, Christ intercedes for us. When we lust after our own passions, Jesus intercedes for us.

God sits on his judgment seat over all of us. The Father looks to his Son who bears the marks of our salvation. The Father looks to the Holy Spirit who has sealed us for the day of redemption. The Father then over looks all our transgressions. God forgives all our sins and instructs us to share that gift with one another.
