Proper 12 (Ps) July 28th


Psalm 133:1-3
1 Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity!
2 It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
3 It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the Lord has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore.

It is very great and blessed that God gathers his children to dwell together in unity. We may not see unity between church bodies around the world. We do not see unity in congregations in a community. We do not see unity in governments. But there is still only one way to everlasting Life. There is only one Resurrection and the Life. There is only one Good Shepherd. There is only one Faith, one Baptism, and One God. He will gather his flock to the mountains of Zion and give us life forevermore through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, Immanuel.

Let us Pray:
O Lord, keep Your household, the Church, in continual godliness that through your protection she may be free from all adversities and devoutly given to serve You in good works; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
