1 John 3:1-3
1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 3 And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

People ask all the time "Do you know where your going when you die?" The general expected answer is "No." Thus you can tell people about Heaven. But St John reminds of the Love of God. He reminds us not of some distant place or future presence in the Resurrection of the Dead. This world does recognize those beloved by God because they did know His Son Jesus Christ.
You are beloved by God. You are children of the Holy One. You are his beloved Saints. It does not matter where God takes you when you die. What matters is are you beloved by God? The answer is here in our text. Everyone who hopes in Christ Jesus is perfected by Christ's Sacrifice. It is not our doing but the one who Loves us.
Celebrate not your eventual reunion in Heaven nor the renewed body on Earth but the one who is with you. The one who loves you and deigns to dwell with you now deserves Celebration. Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit are with you right now. Thanks be to God that he has claimed you to be his Child. He loves all His Children and dwells with them forever. I just want to be in the Father's loving Arms and so I am through Jesus Christ's Death and Resurrection.
