Psalm 130:1-8
1 Out
of the depths I cry to you, O Lord!
2 O
Lord, hear my voice!
Let your ears be attentive
to the voice of my pleas for mercy!
3 If
you, O Lord, should mark iniquities,
O Lord, who could stand?
4 But
with you there is forgiveness,
that you may be feared.
5 I
wait for the Lord, my soul waits,
and in his word I hope;
6 my
soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen for the morning,
more than watchmen for the morning.
7 O
Israel, hope in the Lord!
For with the Lord there is steadfast love,
and with him is plentiful redemption.
8 And
he will redeem Israel
from all his iniquities.
Thanks be to God our Father and Lord Jesus Christ, for their plan for our Salvation. I will wait for this plan to be completed. I will wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will come and judge the living and the dead.
You realize that there are two lines which most Christians say on a daily if not weekly basis, which I doubt they fully grasp while they speak those words. The first is general pointed out, "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us." If The Lord kept track of all our sins who could stand. If he remembered all your sins would he truly listen to your prayers?
The other one is this: "and he will come to judge both the living and the dead." God, Jesus Christ, is actually going to judge you. He is going to judge your works and deeds and find out whether you are going to be save. Who is worthy to be saved? Who is worthy to enter into eternal life with Christ? Who has forgiven their brother or neighbor as much as they desire God to forgive them?
We are all filled with sin. We have been completely corrupted by sin. We are need of God's great plan of salvation. God sent his only begotten Son to die for you. He forgives you all your sins. He removes those sins from you. He even makes you holy and worthy to stand before the judgment seat of God. God has truly blessed you. Now we wait for The Lord. We forgive one another. We remind ourselves of the judgment day.
