The Fourth Sunday of Easter (Ps) April 21st

Psalm 70:1-5
Make haste, O God, to deliver me!
O Lord, make haste to help me!
Let them be put to shame and confusion
who seek my life!
Let them be turned back and brought to dishonor
who delight in my hurt!
Let them turn back because of their shame
who say, “Aha, Aha!”
May all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you!
May those who love your salvation
say evermore, “God is great!”
But I am poor and needy;
hasten to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay!

I remember really liking this beginning, because I have always longed for Christ's return.  Come Lord Jesus come quickly, like Now! Make haste to deliver me from this wicked evil age. Make haste to deliver from this life of sorrow and despair.  Make haste Oh God to deliver me from suffering.

When I look back at my Childhood I do not think of suffering or shame or death like many people face today. I did not have either of parents die. I did not have to suffer through a great tragedy. But do remember many time during my youth and childhood praying for Christ to come. I now look back and see a child looking to escape from this vail of tears.

Come Lord Jesus come quickly. It is not just myself that I desire to be delivered, but all those suffering. Make Haste to deliver me, and all the world from the terror of the devil, the world, terrorists and even our own sinful and selfish actions. We look at people who are willing to kill, and hate them some much that we are even desiring for them to be killed. Are we really any different?

Come Lord Jesus and transform us into perfect people. God sacrificed his son to redeem the world from your sins. God raised his son to new life. God will raise you to new life. Someone once said that things get better. Come Lord Jesus and things will finally be better, but more importantly things will be holy and perfect. Christ has already win the victory for us. Come Lord Jesus Christ and deliver us from this pain and suffering. This is my prayer, what is yours?
